About

About Techwhere

Techwhere is a self-serve directory for US IT field service. We connect both sides directly and take nothing from the work that follows.

What is Techwhere?

Techwhere sells the IT Field Tech Work Directory: an Excel workbook with eight tabs, listing 134 companies and platforms that hire or dispatch IT field technicians in the US, with how to apply to each. It costs $29, one time. To order, email techwhere.sales@proton.me: we send an invoice and email you the workbook once payment arrives. Technicians can also join the free Techwhere technician network with the sign-up form, which asks for city, state and ZIP code, never a street address. We are not a job board or an agency: we do not find you work or assign jobs, and we take no cut of your jobs.

What Techwhere is

This site is for IT field technicians. You can buy the Work Directory, a list of companies that hand out contract IT field work, or join the free Techwhere technician network. Alongside both we publish free guides explaining what companies expect, so the working relationship succeeds. Companies have their own Techwhere site, linked at the foot of this page.

We are not a middleman. We do not take a cut of any job, charge a platform fee, or sell a subscription. You pay once for a list and keep it. Whatever you agree with the person on the other side is between the two of you.

What Techwhere is not

  • Not an agency. We do not employ, engage, dispatch or supervise technicians.
  • Not a marketplace. There is no bidding, no ratings and no work routed through us.
  • Not a job board. We tell you who to approach; applying and onboarding is yours to do.
  • Not a vetting service. We do not screen or background-check anybody. Companies do their own vetting.

Who it is for

Technicians

Independent IT field technicians who already have tools and transport, or are prepared to get them, and who want to know which companies actually dispatch contract work in their area. It is not for anyone looking for a salaried role with benefits, or expecting work to be assigned to them.

How it works

  1. Choose. The Work Directory.
  2. Order and pay once. Email us to order. We send an invoice, and you pay by bank transfer or a payment link we send you. No subscription and no account to create.
  3. Get the file. Once payment arrives, we email you the file.
  4. Make contact yourself. You reach out directly. We are not involved and take no commission.

How technician data is handled

Technicians can join the free Techwhere technician network through the free sign-up form. Joining is optional, costs nothing, and carries no commission.

Buyers are expected to use contact details responsibly: identify themselves, keep outreach relevant, offer a clear way to opt out, and honour removal requests immediately and permanently.

How to be removed

Email techwhere.sales@proton.me (also under “Remove me from the list” in the footer of every page) with your email address, your phone number or both. They are taken out of every list, including any file a company downloads from then on. A company that bought a list before your request keeps the file it paid for.

How to contact us

By email only, at techwhere.sales@proton.me. We deliberately do not run a phone line, a live chat widget or a login. Everything on this site is self-serve.

Editorial approach

The guides are written by the Techwhere editorial team as general, practical guidance that holds across the US IT field service industry. We do not publish invented statistics, pay rates, testimonials or reviews. Where a typical range is genuinely useful we say so and hedge it. Tax, insurance and legal topics carry a note that they are general information rather than professional advice.
